
Janice has been working in painting since she was about 3 years old. She spent much of her time at
Yasuko Okamoto's art studio to learn the basic skill of drawing. While she was at the women's college of
fine art, her passion for her experiences led her to Lithography. With the supervision of Fumio Tamura,
she worked creating various color using only 3 basic shades. Her prints were shown at the Tokyo
metropolitan museum. After she received B.F.A., she came to San Francisco for advance study. She
learned various printmaking skills while she was at Academy Art College and Art Institute. Her Asian style
composition quickly became popular and her prints were sold through the nation.
Janice returned to SFAI for advance painting in 2005. She challenged a variety of mediums on large
canvas under the supervision of Frances McCormack.
Janice's primary interest is people and animals. Her vision of people are often expressed in animals. Her
vision of animals are often expressed in people. She has been focused on spirit relations among living
creatures.
Janice's oil paintings have been in galleries for solo and group shows. Her works were published in Art
magazines and newspapers. She has collectors nationally and internationally. Janice resides in San Jose,
California with her husband Alan and a 4 legged friend Yoda.
