Janice's Artist Statement
My recent work is inspired by Arts born in the time of peace in the history of Japan, Edo Period (1603-1867). It is
called Asobie, Play Picture. The Art was created as a playing tool for children and adults alike. The optical illusions
of paintings and the drawings shows the humorous world of Edo era
My Art passion is to create a new version of Asobie, Play Picture, based on my daily life and experiences in US.
Playing with paints thinking about peace and richness in History and Modern is a vital fuel to my creativity.
